Location

Tassili Lodge is 2 km from O.R. Tambo International Airport, about a 5-minute drive. Festival Mall is a 16-minute walk away. Bonaero Park Shopping Centre and Pamula Park Nature Reserve are within 3 km and 4 km respectively. Guests usually reach the lodge by taxi, Uber, or private car. Free on-site parking is available.

Dining

There is no restaurant on site. Guests can buy coffee, tea, and snacks at the reception. Many restaurants and fast-food outlets are located at Festival Mall and in central Kempton Park, a short drive away.

Leisure

The lodge has a terrace with garden views. The property is quiet, surrounded by greenery, and has high walls with 24-hour security, CCTV in common areas, and fire extinguishers. Parking is free and accessible. This is a basic, safe place to rest between flights.

Services

Multilingual staff speak Arabic, English, and French. Guests often praise staff members Kevin and Phindi for being friendly and helpful. Wi-Fi is only available at the reception area. There is no in-room kettle, microwave, or iron. The lodge provides an invoice for business travelers.

“The proximity to OR Tambo Airport is a significant advantage, and I found the rooms to be quite spacious and clean, a pleasant surprise given the affordable price point. Staff interactions were consistently positive, marked by kindness and efficiency, and the availability of backup electricity during load shedding was a practical consideration. While some minor facility maintenance, like the main door, might be needed, the overall value and comfort, especially the beds, make this an understandable choice for short stays.”
